Want to give my opinion
I've heard some good things about Hy-Vee so I wanted to check it out. My experience was this, Hy-Vee I found is overrated.
Their store is laid out well but the prices are very high for what they offer. They have a pretty good selection. However it ends there. The employees are very unhappy looking and management seems not to care.
It's my last choice in town. They seem to have had too many pats on the back and I think they believe they're better than anyone else.
They get a lot of business and I think if many of the people that shop there would be surprised how expensive they are compared to some other stores. And would be surprised how much better the costumer service at other stores.

Rude customer service lady, regarding refund
I purchased 4 packs of durecell batteries at $12.99 a shot. I bought them while finishing up my Thanksgiving shopping.
I don't keep my grocery receipts because it's food items. The batteries were white and corroded all 4 packs. I took them back to the silvis, Illinois 61282 store were purchased and they refused to do anything about it because no receipt. I was stunned, and angry.
Didn't even offer me a solution or exchange. Made !e so angry I do not want an exchange I want my money back or store credit.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Went to store originally, called filled complaints three times never use that store again
She took all the information looked all over it wasnt.
That was jan 6 i ,it was for the my best friends vistation they said they would make it but be 30 min i had to be at the funeral home at noon so told them just give me my money back i will let you know i am pissed as *** so not speaking to anyone because as of today i still havent been credited the 47.97 if it is not taken care of today i am talking to a lawyer for all the pain and suffering this has caused . Really how hard is a credit extremely annoyed never ever will i go to your store or buy from your store

I went to your store on N. Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny, IA 50023 at 8:15 on Sunday, December 17.
I went through the self check out lane and a few of the items that I picked up said I had spector expected them to be either they were in the wrong slot or somebody put them there whatever but the young man that I asked, help me take off my receipts was rude, very rude like I was asking him to take my groceries out himself. I then asked him again to to takeoff two bags of chips, and I apologize of course and I was embarrassed but he didnt say a word then he went to some other person said something to them and they were circling around me as I checked out as if I were to steal something because I didnt have money. Let me tell you something I make five figures, I I go to the store every day I was just tired. I dont know who this boy is and this manager it was a girl if but they read me the wrong way, and Im gonna let everybody know I have a diamond bigger than his front tooth on my finger he shouldve not assumed anything because that I avoided few things that were way overpriced.
If this is your customer services I will be going to the chain store across the street from my home and I will also let everybody in the industry know what bad customer service Hy-Vee has. Im very disappointed I made my son work here because it was a right of passage.
Now Im embarrassed , super angry and disappointed thats all I wanted you to know. Thank you so much for listening.

walked in 2nd person in line ask where scrach off tickets were points towards another register that was busy instead of her walking down there with me she stays at her register other people came in I told her you know you could of walked down here and helped me theb you're fat manager runs his mouth instead of telling her she should of helped me I really hate your stores oh yea he told me to never come back trust me your employees that lazy to wait on a customer because they have to walk a few steps that gas station on merely hay and hickman not my side of town and after the service they demonstrated I don't care if I ever go into a hyvee of anywhere

Verified ReviewerUpset over manual EBT transaction denied ability to purchase $111 of groceries.
Yes I was in Hy-Vee council bluffs at 2323 West Broadway last Thursday and I have been using a manual EBT transaction here at this hyvee. All the managers that have been working here for the past year no me and always come up to approve the manual EBT transaction several times at least three four maybe five times a month for the last year.
And on last week I was not allowed to purchase my groceries that I had using a manual EBT transaction because my card has been lost and I have not had a card for over the past year I have my numbers memorized and I have my PIN number obviously it's not like I'm using a credit card or a debit card without the card present no I'm using my EBT card. All of your employees and management at this location have allowed me to do manual EBT transaction without the card present for the past year. Last week when I was in I had over a little over $111 worth of groceries some of the items in my cart with clearance chocolate about $26 worth of clearance lindor truffles and I had shrimp and salads and everything fresh food cuz I had went all month long without my food stamps to begin with so I was really hungry and had a cart full. And was denied the ability to purchase my food I informed them that I thought it was ridiculous but they let people walk out of the store with cart full of groceries without ever arresting them or prosecuting them.
I was not allowed to purchase my groceries not even one last time. I thought it was ridiculous I even offered to show them a picture of one of the persons has walked out of your store with Parks full of groceries several times if I could just purchase my food. And they would not work with me give me any leeway give me one chance or let me use my card at all that day and then I would call and order a new one I'm homeless I live outside at the River camping and I make my food stamps stretch that is why I have not ordered a new card yet because I make them last to me as much as I can so that I don't go without food. I was very upset crying they suspended my transaction but still did not help me at customer service I was still denied the ability to purchase my food or anything I even heard one of the cashiers telling another cashier that she felt bad because she couldn't pay for my groceries for me otherwise she would have and I just thought that I should let you guys know that I found it very disturbing rude upsetting and very non-compassionate.
It was the worst service I've ever had at Hy-Vee in my entire 39-year-old life. I prefer to think that Hy-Vee has always been a good grocery store for me with their sweet clearance deals they're exceptionable meat and produce options. But now I'm very much so considering not shopping here again. Also I have even posted how I felt right away I went on live Facebook with a video expressing my hurt and upsetness with the lack of compassion at your store here that day if you would like to give me a call my name is Brianna legge my phone number is 402-284-**** or you can also email me or send me a text message if I do not answer your call thank you so much for your consideration time and the I appreciate your reading of my message God bless you and hopefully I don't have any other bad experiences with Hy-Vee because I honestly would hate to stop shopping here.

Preferred solution: All I wanted to do was to buy the second 12 pack of SPRITE soda pop cans to be able to get the 2 free 12 pack cans each of the buy 2 get 2 free 12 pack cans of coke products that were on sale today.
